Alternating Single-Lane Closures at the intersection of 7th Street and Florida Avenue NW – Tuesday Night, April 26th and Wednesday Night, April 27th

(Washington DC) On Tuesday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 27, 2016 the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close a single alternating lane at a time in all directions at the intersection of 7th Street NW and Florida Avenue NW (weather permitting). This work which will temporarily alter traffic patterns for two nights will begin at 9 pm on each night and end at 5 am the following morning.

The temporary nightly lane closures are necessary so DDOT can replace the final portion of existing asphalt as part of the Georgia Avenue NW Dedicated Bus Lanes & Streetscape Project.  This portion of the work is outside the limits of the dedicated bus lane which is in operation as of April 11, 2016. The overall project is expected to be completed in early June 2016.

Motorists are urged to stay alert and to use caution when traveling through the work zone. DDOT will continue to inform the public of lane closures and changes as they occur.
